We travelled from the Adriatic Sea to the Italian Alps and then into Austria, Innsbruck, Salzburg and finally to Munich in Germany.

We were supported by our friends and partners in Venice, Veneto Region, The Dolomites and the capital city of Alto Adige-Trentino, Bolzano. Later we enjoyed exceptional hospitality at The Hotel Turm, in the heart of the mountains. Then we headed north over the Brenner Pass to Innsbruck and then to the Blue Goose in Salzburg.

Thank you so much for this, Janet – your account and those lovely photographs brought back so many memories of the regular drives which Margaret and I used to take through our favourite part of Europe, often following virtually the same itinerary and even drinking the same grape juice shown in your photographs! I am so sorry that we weren’t able to join your merry band – and even sorrier that we won’t be able to join your similar venture next year – but at least we can enjoy it vicariously!
