An insightful and beautifully observed post about a small island in the North Sea. Adjacent geographically to Denmark and Germany and yet disputed by the British Isles as UK territory, this tiny bit of land surrounded by the chilly waters of the North Sea has had an eventful and often tragic history. These days it is home, both permanent and temporary to an exceptional number of feathered species, making it a ‘birders’ mecca for the ornithologists of today.
