What an amazing sounding place …. it does look idyllic. I love the idea of it being a family home too. When we visited a couple of vineyards in Burgandy it was also the smaller family run places that made the best impression.

Too many tours are huge coaches chugging out exhaust fumes and churning up gravel, and depersonalise the whole experience. The Germans and the Dutch know about that indeed and are true cycle fans ….

Love the deckchair photo too of Lucy! You just need your dear white doggie in the basket ..

It does because when you arrive by bike no one knows where you are from – we were mistaken for Dutch, German but never English!

Lyn I would strongly recommend cycling in the Loire – you feel so virtuous when you arrive at a chateau and park your bike!! It makes me feel that I am true traveller – in the old fashioned sense.
