This morning is free to relax – then after lunch your driver will arrive at the hotel to take you on a panoramic tour across the peninsula from Sorrento over to Positano and the Amalfi coast. It’s a 30 minute drive to Positano where you can explore the charming small streets and the delightful beach area of this exquisite little town that tumbles down the hillside to the sea. The whole coast from Positano via Praiano and Furore to Amalfi is picture-postcard material. There are numerous restaurants for dinner and endless ice cream parlours and delightful cafes and bars. Suggested vehicle service from 3 pm, the driver can drop you in Positano and then pick you up later – after dinner? – at say 9 pm.

Bay of Naples, showing Napoli, Paestum, Sorrento, Amalfi

Tuesday, 31st May: Boat trip along the Amalfi Coast

A day on the water is scheduled today. The boat operator will pick you up at the hotel at 09.30 am. Then a day on the water will start from the charming port of Sorrento. From the harbour travel along the coast to admire the fabulous coastline and to visit the romantic and magical island of Capri. Visit the Blue Grotto, enjoy the Amalfi coast from the sea. There’ll be snacks on board and free time to enjoy the island of Capri before heading back to port in the late afternoon.

Wednesday, 1st June: Hike – Beach – Amalfi Town – Ravello

Your driver will pick you up at the hotel this morning and drive you to the start of the ‘The Footpath of the Gods’ this is a panoramic hike that runs from Agerola to Nocelle. The views are spectacular. At the end of the walk (2-3 hours) the driver will take you down to the coast for lunch at our favourite delightful restaurant on the water’s edge. There’s time this afternoon for sun-bathing, gelato sampling etc.

You might also want to drive a little further along the coast to Ravello. Ravello is a charming small town, perched high above the Amalfi Coast. You can make a short stop in Amalfi town on the way to Ravello to see the spectacular Duomo (Cathedral). Note – roads in this area are narrow & winding, you might decide the road up to Ravello is for another day!

The Amalfi coast has numerous exquisite terraces and panoramic views.

Thursday, 2nd June: Sorrento

Today is a day for relaxing and enjoying this wonderful part of Italy. You may choose to spend the afternoon enjoying Sorrento or just relaxing by the pool. Today is the Festa della Repubblica, check with the hotel desk for activities, events happening in Sorrento.

Friday, 3rd June: Sorrento – Naples

Your driver will transfer you from Sorrento up to Naples. I’d suggest departing after lunch, so that you have the morning to enjoy Sorrento before heading up to Naples. Your driver will transfer you to your hotel in Naples. By now you’ll be getting used to spectacular views – the hotel is on a hillside above the historic centre of Naples. The views of the whole of the Bay of Naples are just incredible. The roof terrace gives guests the opportunity to appreciate and absorb the whole of the bay.

Capri – a panoramic terrace

Saturday, 4th June: Naples

You have a full day in Naples today – there’s so much to see and do. Why not start with a stroll into the centre of town. I’d aim for Piazza Plebiscito with perhaps a stop at in about Birdy’s Bakery! Delicious cakes and pastries, then on to Piazza Plebiscito, the biggest square in Naples, home to the vast Church of San Francesco di Paola. At the side of the square is the historic Café Gambrinus (a proper Naples institution) and just a few yards further on is Teatro San Carlo.
