Just putting the final touches to an ‘Italian Lakes Tour’ that starts in Milan on 2nd September, 2024….

It’s going to be a week of boat rides, great food and wine, discovery and fun. We’ll be visiting Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, Lake Iseo and the fabulous Lake Garda. Early September is the perfect time to visit, the days are still warm and the official summer holidays are over, so everywhere is less busy.

Although the other Italian lakes provide some pretty stiff competition. Here are Maggiore and Garda below.

The Grand Tourist trips are deliberately flexible, so that we have time to stay longer in a place we really love. If you appreciate Italy, and enjoy the best food and wine, authentic hospitality, private boat trips and exceptional warmth and hospitality then these trips are for you. If you are a clock-watcher and a stickler for keeping to the programme, our trips are probably not your cup of tea.

• Strongly recommended – especially Isola Bella (Maggiore) and Lake Garda (Sirmione).
