On a fresh Sunday at the end of October an unlikely trio travelled from Trier to Cologne for the Stadt Land Wein event, where ECOVIN, the German Association of Ecological Viticulture, hosted 30 organic winemakers. Throughout the day, members of the public wandered from table to table enquiring about and trying different wines. I felt profoundly proud to be a part of the Weingut Dr Frey team due to my colleagues’ expertise and the quality of the product that they’ve been organically producing since 1994.
ECOVIN was founded in 1985 by a group of wine growers from the Mosel, Pfalz, Rheinhessen and Baden, who wanted to move away from artificial fertilisers and synthetical means of plant protection.
